For the last 20 days, 330 beneficiaries have been up to the task of fixing roads in the Kyangwali settlement camp under the Cash for work temporally employment arrangement.
This arrangement is aimed to provide livelihood assistance to refugees and host community emergency employments and social protection.
So far, Kituti-Kagoma refuge reception center, a 12 km road, has been done with de-silting of culverts, drainage improvement, gullies cleared and ground compacted with gravel. Spot bush clearing and drainage improvement was also done in some parts.
On Nyamiganda-Mukunyu; a 4.8 km bad stretch, has also been worked on. Cash for Work beneficiaries have de-silted culverts for drainage improvement, cleared bushes, filled, and compacted major gullies with soil, tree stumps removed.

The 2km Kirokole-Mombasa stretch, bush clearing has been done, tree stumps and stones removed. Road formation and compacting has been done for a stretch of 1km.
On Kyangwali-Katikara/Kyebitaka, village in the refugee settlement; a 4km host community road is nearing completion. Bush clearing has been done, tree stumps removed throughout the stretch. Road formation and compacting plus drainage of channels has been done for 1.5km on this road.
