Micro And Small Enterprises (Mses) Benefit From Project Seed Grant Support

Under the Waste to Wealth project, Living Earth Uganda  provided seed grant support to MSEs dealing in environmental sanitation service provision.
The project supported 3 MSEs including Green Hope Uganda, Urban Cleaners and Wisdom and Insight Investments   Ltd; to procure garbage collection trucks to enable them deliver more effective waste collection services to the communitites they serve.

Additionally, Enro Solutions, another of the 40 MSEs the project worked with which specializes in drainage channel desilting was supported to procure cleanimng equipment , machinery and protective gear. The Living Earth Energy Developers’ SACCO, the association that brings together all the briquette and energy stove producing  Micro enterprises obtained support to construct institutional stoves at schools with which it has contracts, to promote the use of briquettes as an alternative to wood fire for cooking in schools.

The support has increasingly improved the operations of these enterprises interms of timely delivery, creation of employment and generally, their incomes have since gone higher by atleast 30% .
